NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. According to sources,Dangote Group today thursday,opened a $500 million cement plant in Ethiopia.The new plant is in the western Ethiopian district of Mugher at a site some 85 kilometres from the capital Adidis Ababa,which is surrounded by green pastures but is quickly becoming one of the country's main industrial hubs.The plant will initially produce 2.5 million tonnes a year in a country whose population of 90 million only consumes around 70 kilogrammes of cement per capital annually and the company said it plans to further expand its out put.Nigeria's annual per capital consumption is 127 kilogrammes.Aliko Dangote said in a speech that ''We are going to double this plant.A reliable power supply was one of the attractions that lured the investments to Ethiopia''.
