DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. Accordig to sources,fourth term member of the Lagos stste House of Assembly and representative of Agege constituency 1,Mudashiru Obas,was today monday elected as the Speaker for the eight session of the state Assembly.His election confirmed an earlier report last week that Obasa had been endorsed for the position at a meeting of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress,APC and members elect of the House.Obasa was proposed as the Speaker by one of his major contenders,Moshood Oshun,representing Lagos Mainland Constituency 2.Moshood Oshun motion was seconded by Sola Giwa,a fresh law maker for the Lagos Island Constituency 2.Obasa accepted the nomination at exactly 11:15am today monday.Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni was nominated and approved for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House by another Lawmaker,Gbolahan Yishawu,representing Et-Osa Constituency 2.Minutes before the election of principal officers,the House was inaugurated by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode,who said he was doing as required of him by the Nigerian constitution.In a short address to inaugurate the House,Ambode congratulated the members on their election and charged them to be good ambassadors of their various constituencies.
