 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

Jeralean Talley born May 23, 1899, plans to celebrate                                                                          It was confirmed today that the oldest woman in the world,died at her Inkaster home on wednesday night.She past away at the age of 116.She turned 116 on May 23 2015 in a grand style.Talley was born in Montrose,Ga,in 1899,and moved to Michigan in 1930s.Her husband of 52 years Alfred Talley,died in 1988 when he was 95 years old.The average life expectancy in the U.S is 78.8 years,according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.A common question she was often asked was,what was her secret to living so long?,and her answer still remains over the years that she would credit the Lord and had said about her age,''There's nothing i can do about it''.May her soul rest in peace,Amen.More photos below.                                                                                                                   Jeralean Talley in her younger daysAt 115, Jeralean Talley is the oldest living American and the second-oldest person in the world on a list kept by the Gerontology Research Group Deacon Charles Smith, no age given, of Belleville,When Talley was asked why she thinks she has lived so long, she lifted her arm and pointed to the sky.
