TERRORISTS, BANDITRY ACTIVITIES IN NORTHWEST HAVE REDUCED- SHEHU SANI. (PHOTO).
Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. According to sources,a 26 year old house boy David Idah who murdered a retired Senior Magistrate Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin,was today wednesday sentenced to death.Justice Abiodun Akinyemi today wednesday sentenced the accused who hails from Benue state and worked as a domestic aide for the late senior magistrate,to death by hanging.The convict had on March 28,2014,killed the 65 year old magistrate at her residence in Laderin Housing Estate,Abeokuta,hacking her with machete before slaughtering her about 3pm.He attacked the magistrate because she sacked him after he was caught stealing.He however returned to the house,scaled the fence before killing the retired magistrate.The convict was arraigned on April 4th 2014,in Abeokuta Chief Magistrate court on one count of unlawful killing.The offence contravened sections 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun state,2006.
