 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. BOKO HARAM SUNDAY ATTACK ON CAMEROON,LEFT 23 PEOPLE DEAD.

               According to the residents of the affected areas,said yesterday monday that suspected Boko Haram militants have killed more than 20 people including multiple children in their latest attack on northern Cameroon.They took the few soldiers posted at the targeted village by surprise.According to Pastor Edward Ngosu a Nigerian missionary who has been based in the village for four years said ''More than 80 assailants stormed the village of Kamouna,located near Lake Chad in the northern part of Cameroon that lies between Nigerian and Chad,on sunday night.Only seven soldiers were present at the time,and they were quickly overwhelmed.They began shooting in the air to scare the attackers,but were unsuccessful and 23 people were killed''.Residents had asked the military for more protection last week after suspected Boko Haram fighters conducted a raid near the village and stole livestock.Communications Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary said yesterday monday that he had no information on the attack.
