 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

LAGOS STATE GOVERNOR AMBODE,ISSUED 7 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO ALL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OCCUPYING RENTED APARTMENTS.

                                                           According to sources,the Governor of Lagos state Akinwunmi Ambode has issued 7 days ultimatum to all government agencies occupying rented apartments outside the state Government Secretariat to vacate them and relocate to the main secretariat.Over 15 government agencies are currently outside the Government Secretariat on rented apartments where they pay millions of naira on monthly basis in the midst of scare government resources.The governor took the decision because the cost of running the agencies have become unbearable,thus,ordering them to move back to their main ministries.The order to vacate the rented apartments is contained in a circular NO.072 dated July 24,2015 and signed by the Head of Service,Mrs Folasade Jaji and directed to all head of ministries and government agencies.The Governor has directed that all affected MDAs are to commence relocation to their new offices with immediate effect from 27 July to 3rd of August 2015.Some of the affected agencies are Motor Vehicle Administration Agencies {MVAA} situated at Lateef Jkande Road,Lagos Water Regulatory Commission,Allen junction,Law Reform Commission,Ikeja,Lagos state Safety Commission,Magodo,Lagos state Film and Video Censors Board Ikeja,Audit Service Commission,Ogba,State Valuation Office,Lagos state Christian Pilgrims Board,Ikeja,Lagos state Planning and Environmental Monitoring Office,Ikeja and Audit Service Commission.The affected agencies according to the circular are to be integrated into the mainstream ministries as they have been allocated offices in each of the existing parent ministries which the Lagos state Government uses to drive policy statement.
