President Tinubu meets Labour leaders over proposed protest: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the leadership of the NLC, along with the chairman of Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma,  Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo and Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris and the Minister of State Labour, Honorable Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. The chairman of the NLC,Comrade Joe Ajaero led the Labour leaders to the meeting on Tuesday night at the State House, Abuja. ACCORDING TO ANOTHER SOURCE: President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday night held a meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) as part of last-minute efforts to stop plans by the Labour union to embark on a strike action over the growing insecurity across the country. Last week, the congress declared a nationwide protest for December 17 over the “degenerating security situation” across the country. NIGERIAN NEGOTIATOR FRED ENO,SAID BUHARI'S NEW GOVT OFFER'S A CLEAN SLATE TO BRING THE CHIBOK GIRLS BACK.

                                    After the Nigerian army arrested those that masterminded the suicide attacks in the northern part of Nigeria,the Islamist group Boko Haram,has offered to free the more than 200 Chibok girls,that were kidnapped from their school on April,2014 in exchange for the release of its militant leaders held by the government.Revealing this new development yesterday,a human rights activist,who has been a negotiator for Boko Haram Fred Eno,told Associated Press that Boko Haram's current offer is limited to the girls from the Government Girls Secondary School,Chibok,Borno state,whose mass abduction in April 2014 ignited world wide outrage and a campaign that stretched to other countries.Negotiator Fred Eno,who was involved in last year's talks,revealed another window of opportunity had opened within the past few days,but he could not disclose details.Mr Eno said the recent killings of around 350 people over the past nine days by Boko Haram fits with the pattern of increased violence as the Islamists look for a stronger negotiating position.Mr Eno also said that the latest opportunity comes through respected Islamic scholars and Muslim elders who were ignored by Jonathan's people,but noe have taken dangerous and courageous steps to engage the insurgents.The five week old administration of President Muhammadu Buhari offers ''a clean slate'' to bring the militants back to negotiations which had become poisoned by the different security agencies and their advice to the former president.One more photo below.
