 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.               In a recent article in the Washington Post,President Muhammadu Buhari explains why he has not appointed his cabinet more than three months after sworn into office as the President.In the article,he said he needed time to root out corruption before naming his ministers.''Nigeria must first put new rules of conduct and good governance in place.When cabinet ministers are appointed in September,it will be some moths after i took the oath of office.It would have been neither prudent nor serve the interests of sound governments sooner.People in positions of power under previous administrations had been able to plunder state coffers with impunity.The fact that i now seek Obama's assistance in locating and returning $150 billion in funds stolen in the past decade and held in foreign bank accounts on behalf of former,corrupt officials is testament to how badly Nigeria has been run''.
