 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo. SOMALIA PRESIDENT,CONDEMNS YESTERDAY BOMBING AND WARNS AL-SHABAAB MILITANTS.

                    Today monday,President of Somalia gave a defiant warning to al-Shabaab insurgents a day after they killed at least 13 people in a bomb attack on a hotel that houses several diplomatic missions.The White House strongly condemned yesterday bombing calling it ''abhorrent Attack''.Somalia government security officer Ahmed Ali said ''The devastation was huge,and so far 13 people,all of them innocent civilians,have been confirmed dead.Some of the wounded died last night,while other bodies were covered under the wreckaged of nearby building''.The Jazeera Palace hotel is home to the diplomatic missions of China,Qatar and the United Arab Emirates,and is popular among Somali government officials and foreign visitors.Beijing said on monday one of its embassy staff was killed and three others slightly wounded.AU troops helped rescue survivors,including Kenya's ambassador to Somalia.
