 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. SUSPECTED DEBRIS FROM THE 2014 MALAYSIA MISSING AIRLINE,FOUND AT MADAGASCAR OCEAN.

               Today thursday,Malaysia Airlines said it was premature to speculate on the origin of aircraft debris that had washed up on La Reunion Island in the southern Indian Ocean east of Madagascar.No trace has been found of the MH370,a Boeing 777,which disappeared in March last year carrying 239 passengers and crew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing,in what has become one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history.The statement said Malaysia Airlines was working with authorities to determine the origin of the debris.A U.S official said air safety investigators,including a Boeing air safety investigator,had identified the component as a ''Flaperon'',from the trailing edge of a 777 wing.One more photo below.
