 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. 6 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED TODAY,OVER THE DEATH OF A POLICE INSPECTOR IN SOKOTO.

             According to the Sokoto state Police Command spokesman,Mr El-Mustapha Sani,today monday confirmed the arrest of six workers of a four-star hotel in Sokoto over the death of a Police Inspector,Mr Nura Hashimu,on saturday.He said that the Inspector died after he was allegedly beaten to a state of coma by security guards of the hotel.''The deceased had reportedly lodged in the hotel for about five days preceding the incident.The late officer was asked to leave the hotel after repeated complaints by some of his neighbours in the hotel that his room was always rowdy.He had earlier parked his belongings and put them in a commercial tricycle and left the hotel,but he later returned angrily.On his return,the deceased reportedly had a misunderstanding with the Managing Director of the hotel,prompting the intervention of the security guards,who allegedly beat him up.The late Inspector was rushed to the Specialist Hospital Sokoto,where he was confirmed dead.His corpse had been taken to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching hospital Sokoto for autopsy to determine the real cause of the death.The police spokesman stated that the six suspects had been detained for further investigation''.
