 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. A BAALE'S SON IN LEKKI ''SAHEED'',ACCUSED OF ROBBING PEOPLE IN THEIR COMMUNITY DURING CULTURAL RITES.

                    According to PUNCH Metro,there was panic on wednesday in Lakowe area of Ajah,Lagos State,after some suspected hoodlums reportedly attacked motorists plying the Lekki Epe Expressway and mechanics in a shop in the community.Sources learnt that the attackers who were ared with guns and cutlasses,dispossessed their victims of their valuables and injured many people in the attack which occured around 2pm.Some members of the gang were identified as Saheed,aka Ejo,who is identified to be the son of a traditional ruler {Baale}of a community in the area.Others are Sima,Taofeek,Alaba and one Tunde aka Oka.It was learnt that residents had been indoors while an annual cultural rites,aka Oro,was being observed by the community on the fateful day.It was gathered that the bandits,led by Oka,cashed in on the curfew to attack the mechanics and motorists found outside.A mechanic identified as Segun Borokini said that the mayhem usaualy occurred whenever the rite was being held in the community.He said the gang injured and robbed him of N150,000 and a phone,adding that he reported the incident at the Elemoro Police Division..A resident,who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of being hunted,said police later came to disperse the hoodlums on the expressway.''Some policemen later came to chase them from the expressway,where they were collecting money from motorists.That is how they frustrate everybody.They always look for opportunities to steal whenever they are doing the rites.They don't fear the police at all''.Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer,DSP Patricia Amadin,confirmed the incident was reported but she said the police is not aware of the rites.''The mechanic reported at the station that he was attacked by some people.He did not mention it was during a rite''.
