 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. A POLICEMAN LUKAS ABASHI,CRUSHED TO DEATH BY A TANKER YESTERDAY IN APAPA LAGOS.

               A police sergeant attached to the Taskforce for dismantling tanker traffic in Apapa area of Lagos was yesterday tuesday crushed to death by a tanker.The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command,DSP Patricia Amadin,confirmed the incident to NAN,today wednesday.She said the deceased was identified as Lukas Abashi,and the driver of the vehicle with Reg No.ANC 66XA escaped after the accident.She said the policeman died at the spot after tanker ran over him.The driver attempted to escape with the vehicle,but for the intervention of other members of the taskforce who used motorcycles to pursue him.She said the policeman was on official duty as at the time of the accident,adding that the tanker has the inscription TOTAL.The body of the police man had been deposited in the mortuary,while the tanker was taken to a police station in Apapa.She further said that the police were still trailing the driver.
