 STAEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   PRESIDENT TINUBU: WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUSTAIN BUHARI'S LEGACIES.   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday in Abuja, stated that his administration will continue to honour former President Muhammadu Buhari by sustaining his legacies of purposeful leadership, discipline, integrity, and the belief that public office is a trust, not a windfall.   President Tinubu made this commitment at the State House Conference Centre during the unveiling and public presentation of the book, *From Soldier to Statesman – The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari*, authored by Dr Charles Omole.   He said the book offers Nigerians the opportunity to learn from President Buhari, and affirmed that the greatest honour to bestow on the late President is to sustain his legacies.   "This book reinforces the public memory. It outlines achievements and flaws, as all honest histories should. It should motivate future leaders to learn lessons rather than repeat slogans. ...

PEOPLE OF ILE-IFE,SHOCKED THAT THE ORO RITES FOR THE LATE OONI,WAS EXTENDED TO TODAY SATURDAY.

               According to some residents in Ile-Ife today saturday said that the palace town criers were going round the town announcing that residents especially commercial drivers and motorcyclists should stay indoors between 7a.m and 6pm.That will enable the Oro deity perform the necessary rite for the late Ooni of Ife.It was gathered that the Head of the Oro cult in Ife,the Awara of Iwara,Oba Layi Adereti had ordered the curfew,warning that anyone who flouted the order,irrespective of age or gender would face its consequences.However,residents were apprehensive of the curfew,that they rushed to the few available markets to get essentials that will last them for the day.Since last week friday,major market in Ife had been shut down ever since the burial rites started.As a result of the curfew,some Heads of Departments in the Obafemi Aolowo University,Ile-Ife cancelled the continuous assessment tests for their students earlier scheduled to hold on today saturday.Many residents as well as the Okada riders had thought the mourning period would end yesterday August 21,but they were surprised when they heard the stay at home order extends till today.More photos below.
