 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. ARMED ROBBERS,RAIDED YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS LODGE IN OGUN STATE YESTERDAY.

                    Yesterday saturday morning,armed robbers invaded the residence of National Youth Corps  members serving in Ogun state.The residence is located behind Development Centre,Presidential Boulevard,Abeokuta,the Ogun state capital.The robbery at the lodge,which is the third within five months,occurred at about 3:00am when the Youth Corps members were fast asleep.Items lost include some amount of money,ten laptops and over twenty five telephones.An eyewitness account has it that the bandits exploited the absence of security in the vicinity to gain access to the lodge and at gun point robbed the Youth Corps members.The armed robbers forced their way into each flat at gun point and thereafter embarked on the raid,unhindered.Two of the bandits moved from one room to the other to ransack,while the other two stayed outside to attack anybody that resisted.The Youth Corps members said they had earlier reported the two previous incidents to the police but no action was taken until the robbers struck again yesterday saturday morning..The Corp Members said ''We are begging security authorities in the state and NYSC authorities to come to our aid before the bandits start killing us''.Police sources who confirmed the incident,informed that efforts are ongoing to provide adequate surveillance in the area.
