 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. 197 NIGERIANS WHO WERE DISPLACED IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC,RECEIVED BY NEMA OVER THE WEEKEND

                    Over the weekend,NEMA {National Emergency Management Agency} received 197 Nigerians that were displaced by the crises in Central African Republic who have been taking refuge in the Republic of Cameroon under the International Organization for Migration {IOM}.Director General of NEMA Muhammad Sani Sidi who received the returnees in Sahuda border post near Mubi in Adamawa state said about two years agofollowing the escalation of the crises in the Central African Republic,the Federal Government through NEMA had evacuated its citizens through the airport,these could not be reached because they had crossed over to the Republic of Cameroon.He said under international charter which Nigeria was signatory,the Nigerians were free to decide when to return back home especially given the cover of the International Organization which had opened camps for them in that country.According to him,as IOM was closing the camps they informed the Nigerian government of the development by transporting them to the border,NEMA was mandated to receive them there on behalf of the Federal Government.
