 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.                       Today thursday according to NAN,Ayo Fayose,the Governor of Ekiti state,canclled all forms of fanfare as well as stadium parades usually held on Independence Day celebrations.Fayo in a broadcast said there was nothing to celebrate in view of the economic situation in the country.''The current situation demands sober reflection from all and we cannot pretend about this''.He ordered residents to stay at home and enjoy the celebration in low key.
