 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.             During the nationwide  broadcast today thursday to mark Nigerian 55th independence anniversary,he said he was aware of anxiety and heat generated in Nigeria and abroad by the delay in appointing his ministers.He said ''Fellow Nigerians,there has been a lot of anxiety and impatience over the apparent delay in the announcement of ministers.There is no cause to be anxious.Our government set out to do things methodically and properly.We received the handing over notes from the outgoing goverment only four days before taking over.Consequently,the Joda Transition Committee submitted its report on the reorganization of federal government structure after studying the handover notes.It would have been haphazard to announce ministers when the government had not finalized the ministries to optimally carry the burden of governance.Order is more vital than speed.Careful and deliberate decisions after consultations get far better results.And better results for our country is what the APC government for change is all about''.
