 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses. NIGERIAN PRISON SERVICE,DEBUNKS RUMOURS OF CHARLES OKAH'S DEATH TODAY.

               Today wednesday,the Nigerian Prisons Service denied the speculated death of Charles Okah.Rumours had it that Charlse Okah died in prison shortly after he returned from court yesterday tuesday where he attempted to kill himself.The Nigerian Prisons Service spokesman,Francis Enobore,was quoted as saying that the suspect was not dead.Yesterday tuesday,Charles Okah was prevented from committing suicide while in court by security operatives attached to Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court Abuja.He is being tried for terrorism,,the alleged mastermind of the 2010 independence day bombing in Abuja in which scores of people died.In the absence of his counsel in the course of Tuesday's proceedings,he asked Justice Kolawole for permission to speak on what he described as endless trial.Immediately he ended his speech,he took a chair and rushed toward a window on the third floor of the five storey building and tried to take a plunge through the window before security operatives grabbed him.Like seriously,people online publishers should learn to verify their stories before publishing.One more photo below.
