 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.                                                  The notice of the holiday is contained in a statement issued by Alhaji Baba Dantiye,the Director General,Media and Communications to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje,made available to newsmen in Kano today tuesday.Dantiye qouted Governor Ganduje as congratulating the people of the state and Muslims all over the world for witnessing the new year.He said Governor Ganduje had appealed to Kano citizens to untilise the holiday to offer prayers for peace and prosperity of the country.He said the governor had reassured the people of the state government's determination to work hard toward improving their living standards and pledged to continue to give priority attention to both formal and non formal education in the state.Wednesday October 2014,is the first day of Muharram,the first month in the Islamic calender and marks the new Islamic year 1437 after hijra.One more photo below.
