Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. Today friday,at least 27 people were reportedly dead after Malian commandos stormed a luxury hotel identified as Radisson Blu hotel at Bamako with at least 170 people inside,many of them foreigners,that had been seized by Islamist gunmen.Later on 73 people were released and security forces are now trying to make their way through the Hotel.Another source said 18 bodies were found in the building ,then two attackers have been killed.Special forces teams have been moving through the hotel floor by floor,freeing hostages.The assailants had gathered on the seventh floor,while on lookers say they heard sporadic gunfire as the hostages situation continued.By late afternoon,ministerial adviser Amadou Sangho told a French television station BFMTV that no more hostages were being held.More photos below.
