Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Today saturday,Prof.Anthonia Simbini INEC {Independent National Electoral Commission},National Commissioner,North Central,made the disclosure to pressmen in Kwa,Qua'an Pan today saturday,said ''We discovered in some polling units three major problems during the accreditation in this bye-election,under-aged,fake party agents cards and low turn out of voters.We have seen with our eyes and seized seven PVCs from the under aged and five fake party agent cards in some few polling units visited.The children should not take the law into their hands but should wait until they reach the age of 18''.The commissioner expressed happiness with the presiding officers,who she said had turned away most of the under aged voters that came for accreditation.One more photo below.
