 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.                                                                                 The Council's Communication Manager,Mr Desmond Omovie,made the disclosure to NAN today Friday in Lagos.According to him,the event is part of efforts by the council to identify with and honour such students that have acquired UK education.''In some few months from now,we will be organising an alumni event,basically for Nigerians who have been to the UK to study and now are back to contribute their quota to the country's development.You know each time we have Nigerian students going over to the UK to study,we usually encourage them to go back home at the end of their courses and see how they can plough back their knowledge and experience back to the society''.Joke Silver is not the only one to be honoured,Prof Wole Soyinka and other Nigerians who had been to the UK to sturdy will be honoured too.One more photo below.
