NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. Today monday,the Kenya national football team Harambee stars players were stranded at Wilson airport in the country's capital after the owner of the chartered plane they were to travel in refused to give the go ahead for the plane's departure demanding full payment.There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the journey since morning .The flight that was to leave at 0700 GMT failed to do so after the players staged a go slow demanding full payment of their dues from past matches.The flight was rescheduled for 1330 GMT,but again failed to take off after Skyward Company,the owner of the chartered plane that the players were to use,demanded that full payment is made before the plane is released.
