Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. The Supreme Court decision to hear the appeal this week was contained in the hearing notices sent to parties in the case today.Senator Saraki is challenging the decision of the Code of Conduct Tribunal {CCT} to assume jurisdiction over the false asset declaration charges brought against him by the Code of Conduct Burea {CCB}.The Court of Appeal,in a split decision of two to one upheld that the CCT's jurisdiction to hear the charges,a decision Saraki appealed at the Supreme Court.The Supreme Court had on November twelve directed the CCT to suspend proceedings in the trial pending the determination of the appeal.So now the Supreme Court has picked this week thursday for the hearing on the appeal.One more photo below.
