Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.                            In a statement issued today and signed by Augusta Ogakwu said ''The Independence National Electoral Commission conducted Governorship Election in Kogi state on 21st November 2015,which was declared inconclusive.On the 23rd November 2015,the All Progressives Congress {APC} notified the Commission of the death of its Governorship candidate in the election,Prince Abubakar Audu.The Commission has,after due consideration of the circumstances,decided as follows {i}To conclude the process by conducting election in the 91 affected Polling Units as announced by the Returning Officer.
{ii}To allow the All Progressives Congress to fill the vacancy created by the death of its candidates.
{iii}To conduct the supplementary election on 5th December,2015.
Accordingly,notice is hereby given to all the 22 political parties participating in the Kogi Governorship Election supplementary election in the 91 affected Polling Units shall hold on 5th December,2015.
