TROOPS OF OPERATION UDO KA UNCOVER SHALLOW GRAVE, EXHUME REMAINS OF LATE COMMUNITY LEADER IN IMO STATE Troops of 34 Artillery Brigade, operating under Operation UDO KA and through the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II, have achieved another significant breakthrough with the recovery and dignified exhumation of the remains of the late Chief Ibe Anyadu of Aggah Community. Chief Anyadu was allegedly murdered by suspected members of a criminal gang recently apprehended in connection with violent crimes in the region. This development follows recent intelligence-driven operations that led to the arrest of suspects responsible for the killing of a Nigerian Army soldier and the recovery of stolen service weapons. During interrogation, one of the suspects confessed to involvement in the murder of Chief Anyadu and volunteered to lead troops to the burial site. Today thursday,the European Union launched a fund for Africa with an initial $2 billion to combat the poverty and conflict driving migration to Europe,but African leaders said more fundamental economic change was need.The trust fund was unveiled at a summit with African leaders in Malta,consists largely of 1.8 billion euros {$1.93 billion } put up by the European Commission,the EU executive,from the bloc's central budget.The Commission wants member states to match that,but few have pledged much so far.The new money,which adds to somee 20 billion euros annually donated to Africa by the EU and its 28 states,will finance projects ranging from training and small business grants and combating food shortages to schemes directly aimed at cutting emigration and tackling radicalization and other violence.
