TERRORISTS, BANDITRY ACTIVITIES IN NORTHWEST HAVE REDUCED- SHEHU SANI. (PHOTO).
Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Today thursday,the European Union launched a fund for Africa with an initial $2 billion to combat the poverty and conflict driving migration to Europe,but African leaders said more fundamental economic change was need.The trust fund was unveiled at a summit with African leaders in Malta,consists largely of 1.8 billion euros {$1.93 billion } put up by the European Commission,the EU executive,from the bloc's central budget.The Commission wants member states to match that,but few have pledged much so far.The new money,which adds to somee 20 billion euros annually donated to Africa by the EU and its 28 states,will finance projects ranging from training and small business grants and combating food shortages to schemes directly aimed at cutting emigration and tackling radicalization and other violence.
