  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.              A statement from the Federal Ministry of Finance signed by Mr Marshall Gundu,Director,Press of the ministry said the Minister of Finance Mrs Kemi Adeosun has confirmed the payment to the oil marketers.Adeosun noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed that the payments should be ''Made immediately in order to bring to a quick end the lingering fuel crisis which has caused great suffering to Nigerian families and business''.The minister of finance also said that ''Despite dwindling revenues,the government is committed to ensuring continuous availability of fuel to Nigerians''.The wednesday payments to oil marketers she said ''Include arresrs from the 2014 financial year as well as payments for the current year''.
