 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. OVER 200 SHOPS IN IBADAN PLANK MARKET GOT BURNT TO ASHES YESTERDAY.

               Yesterday friday ''Christmas day'',more than 200 shops in Sango Plank Market Ibadan Oyo state,was burnt to ashes.The shops were located at Alaro area of Sano.The fire was said to have started at about 3:00 pm and it was still burning as at 7:30pm with the men of the Oyo State Fire Service struggling to put it out.The loss in the fire is estimated at N250 million.It was gathered that the fire was fuelled by the large stock of planks in each of the shops and heaps of saw dust scattered around the market,coupled with the effect of the dry season.Only one fire service tanker was at the scene of the incident.As a form of self help,traders ordered tankers of wateradd to the water needed by fire fighters.The traders wailed as they saw their wares in flames with efforts too little to quench the raging fire.Apart from the planks,several sawing machines and other logging equipments were lost in the fire.One of the affected traded simply identified as Adegoke said  ''I am a medium sized trader but we have some of  us with planks and equipment worth more than N5m in their shops''.One more photo below.
