 AGF to Meet Senate Panel on Tax Reform Bills Today The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), is set to meet with the Senate today (Thursday) to review the Tax Reform Bills submitted by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly. Amid controversy surrounding the bills, especially from the North, President Tinubu had urged for calm and directed the AGF to engage with the National Assembly to resolve the issues. In response, the Senate established a panel to meet with the AGF. Although the meeting had been delayed due to changes in the Senate panel's membership and caucus discussions, a source from the Ministry of Justice confirmed that the meeting will proceed today. Senator Abba Moro, Chairman of the Senate Special Committee, also confirmed that both the AGF and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, have been invited to the session. THE NIGERIAN IMMIGRATION SERVICE,RAISED ALARM OVER THE INFLUX OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS INTO RIVERS STATE

                                    The Comtroller General of Immigration Service Martin Kure Abeshi disclosed this at the 2015 stakeholders conference organised by the Rivers State Command on National Development and Global Security Challenges.The Controller General Immigration who was represented by the Acting Controller General Zone E.M.O Shuaibu,said the security challenges around the border areas and the North East are responsible for the movement of people seeking for peaceful environment to dwell.He called for the collaboration of other security outfits in the state to ensure that the migrants in the state do not pose any security threat.The State Controller of Immigrstion Service,A.M.Haliru said the State Command has embarked on stiffer penalty and repatriation of expaatriates without relevant Visa and permit to work in Rivers State.
