 FG ARRAIGNS 400 TERRORISM SUSPECTS The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi (SAN), has arraigned for prosecution over 400 terrorism suspects.  Judiciary Correspondent Austin Anyebe reports that the trials are taking place in different courts at the Federal High Court complex in Abuja.  A team led by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi SAN supported by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), is prosecuting the suspects. Similar mass trial took place in April 2026. In that trial out of 508 defendants, the AGF's office secured 386 convictions, with 8 discharges and 2 acquittals.  Many of the convicts received prison sentences of up to 20 years.  The defendants are facing charges linked to terrorism, aiding and abetting insurgent activities, and financing. AL-QAEDA RAID IN AN HOTEL YESTERDAY NIGHT,LEFT 20 PEOPLE DEAD IN BURKINA FASO.

                 Security forces ended a siege by al-Qaeda fighters at Splendid Hotel in Burkina Faso's capital today saturday,killing three islamist gunmen and freeing 126 hostages.At least 20 people are believed to have been killed in the attack on the hotel which began late yesterday friday.Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb {AQIM} claimed responsibility for the raid.Simone Compaore said operations were still under way at a second hotel nearby,the Hotel Yibi and security forces were trying to determine if some of the fighters were hiding there.According to the Minister,''The operations at the Splendid Hotel and the nearby Restaurant Cappuccino have ended.126 hostages were freed,among them 33 were wounded.Three jihadists were killed.They are an Arab and two black Africans'.More photos below.
