 PRESS RELEASE DEATH OF RETIRED SENIOR OFFICERS: IGP EXPRESSES SHOCK, COMMISERATES WITH FAMILIES OF JITOBOH, LONGE. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, is deeply shocked by the deaths of Retired DIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, who passed on during the early hours of Friday 27th December, 2024, after a brief illness, and Pastor Bola Longe (AIG Rtd.) who passed away on Sunday 22nd December 2024.  Retired DIG Moses Jitoboh served as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Force Headquarters, before his retirement in 2023, while retired AIG Bola Longe had served as the CP Nasarawa State, and as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Federal Operations, Force Headquarters Abuja, before his retirement in 2021. THE NIGERIAN CIVIL AVIATION,SUSPENDED A BRISTOW HELICOPTER TYPE,FROM FURTHER OPERATION IN NIGERIA.

                    The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority,NCAA, yesterday suspended Britstow Helicopter's aircraft type SikorskyS-76C++ from further operations in Nigeria due to the successive mishap of the said aircraft type on the coastal waters of Lagos.Disclosing this development to aviation reporters at the NCAA Annex,Murtala Muhammed International Airport{MMIA},Lagos,Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviatiob Authority {NCAA},Captain Muhtar Usman affirmed that the aircraft type had been suspended till further notice pending when the authority will carry out a full audit on it.Usman said ''These decisions are without prejudice to the investigations being conducted by the Accident Investigation Bureau {AIB}.As a matter off fact,it will serve to assist the entire process.The Authority will fully support AIB in the investigation.The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority {NCAA} has therefore decided to suspend the operation of the Bristow Helicopters SikorskyS-76C++ type till further notice''.The NCAA boss pointed out that the suspension was necessary because of previous crashes of the airline involving it's aircraft type adding that it was only responsible for Regulatory Authority to stem  the rapidity of the occurrences and ensure that the airline carry out safe flight operations henceforth.More photos below.
