 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. TOMORROW IS ASH WEDNESDAY+THE MEANING OF ASH WEDNESDAY.

                  Tomorrow wednesday is ash wednesday,and it is mostly practice by the Catholics.Ash wednesday is a day of fasting and it is the first day of Lent.It occurs 46 days {40 fasting days,if the 6 sundays,which are not days of fast,are excluded} before Easter and can fall as early as 4 February or as late as 10th of March.Ash wednesday is observed by many Western Christians,including Anglicans,Lutherans,Methodists,Presbyterians and Roman Catholics.According to the canonical gospels of Matthew,Mark and Luke,Jesus Christ spent 40 days fasting in the desert,where he endured temptation by Satan.Lent originated as a mirroring of this,fasting days as preparation for Easter.Every sunday was seen as a commemoration of the sunday of Christ's resurrection and so as a feast day on which fasting was inappropriate.Ash wednesday derives its name from the practice of blessing ashes made from palm branches blessed on the previous year's Palm Sunday,and placing them on the heads of participants to the accompaniment of the words ''Repent and believe in the Gospel'' or ''Remember that you are dust,and to dust you shall return''.No meat will be eaten on Ash Wednesday.More photos below.
