 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. The foreign ministry added in a statement that ⁠the U.S. announcement aligned with "the mischaracterisation of South Africa's domestic policies by fringe groups". "We maintain that challenges in our bilateral relations with the USA can only be resolved by constructive engagement through state actors on both sides of the diplomatic channel not unilateral acts," the statement said, Reuters reported. Trump has repeatedly criticized ‌South ⁠Africa since the start of his second term for what he falsely claims is the racial persecution of its white minority, citing affirmative action laws aimed at ⁠addressing the inequality that has persisted since apartheid. TOMORROW IS ASH WEDNESDAY+THE MEANING OF ASH WEDNESDAY.

                  Tomorrow wednesday is ash wednesday,and it is mostly practice by the Catholics.Ash wednesday is a day of fasting and it is the first day of Lent.It occurs 46 days {40 fasting days,if the 6 sundays,which are not days of fast,are excluded} before Easter and can fall as early as 4 February or as late as 10th of March.Ash wednesday is observed by many Western Christians,including Anglicans,Lutherans,Methodists,Presbyterians and Roman Catholics.According to the canonical gospels of Matthew,Mark and Luke,Jesus Christ spent 40 days fasting in the desert,where he endured temptation by Satan.Lent originated as a mirroring of this,fasting days as preparation for Easter.Every sunday was seen as a commemoration of the sunday of Christ's resurrection and so as a feast day on which fasting was inappropriate.Ash wednesday derives its name from the practice of blessing ashes made from palm branches blessed on the previous year's Palm Sunday,and placing them on the heads of participants to the accompaniment of the words ''Repent and believe in the Gospel'' or ''Remember that you are dust,and to dust you shall return''.No meat will be eaten on Ash Wednesday.More photos below.
