Anambra State Government to build 10,000 homes for workers The Anambra State Government has announced a major housing scheme aimed at solving accommodation challenges for civil servants and low-income households, with plans to build 10,000 low-cost housing units at Isiagu in Awka South Local Government Area of the state. The project, which will be executed through a Public–Private Partnership arrangement with real estate developers, is expected to take off during the dry season after earlier delays caused by last-minute disagreements between the government and its private partners were fully resolved. According to a press statement released on Saturday, the state Commissioner for Housing, Paully Onyeka, said the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, had long approved the housing scheme, but it was truncated by last-minute bureaucratic bottlenecks, which have been resolved by the state government. The Lagos state Police Public Relation Officer,PPRO,SP Dolapo Badmos who confirmed the arrest said the three suspects were arrested with human flesh by the Anti Robbery Squad SARS and they are undergoing interrogation following the discovery.According to her,the police arrested Ekene with the human flesh and when he was interrogated he said he was sent by one oil magnate.Police sources said Ekene was accosted by the police detective on routine checks along Bucknor area of Ejigbo with one white sack containing undiscovered content.Ekene was ordered to open the sack and he confessed that it contained human flesh.He was subsequently arrested and taken to the station where the matter was transffered to SARS.When he made a confessional statement,he told he police that he was promised N500,000 by the oil magnate who asked him to abduct a baby for him.He said out of the money he was promised,he was paid N100,000 as advance and he went and abducted a two year old baby for him which he took to a native doctor as he was directed.He said he was caught after he was returned the served and pounded body to the man that sent him to get his balance.The oil magnate have not owned up that he was the person that sent Ekene for the job,and this has dragged the case.She added that the police have intensified effort to unmask what really happened and to arrest and prosecute those involved in the crimes.The three suspects were detained that is Ekene,the oil magnate and the herbalist at SARS Ikeja office.One more photo below.
