NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar,Acting Director Defence Information said in a statement on thursday through social media that ''The attention of Defence Headquarters {DHQ} has been drawn to the existence of fake facebook accounts being operated in the name of the Chief of Defence Staff {CDS},General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin.The popular facebook accounts created by some cyber fraudsters,goes by different fake identities and official photographs of the Chief of Defence Staff are used.The pervasive facebook accounts has been misleading the general publics who have been patronizing the sites.We wish to therefore dissociate the CDS from the said accounts and call on the general public not to patronize them.The fraudsters are using the CDS facebook to extort money from unsuspecting citizens in the name of recruitment into the military and other sundry criminal purpose.The DHQ views this a a criminal act and efforts is being made to track and bring the perpetrators to book.This is for the awareness of the general public,please''.
