  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,DECLARES MAY 2ND,AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

                                                       The Federal Government has declared Monday May 2 as public holiday to commemorate this year's Workers Day Celebration.The Minister of Interior,Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau {rtd},who announced this on behalf of the federal government,congratulated Nigerian Workers for their resilience,hard work and commitment to the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration,despite current challenges.According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Interior,Bassey Okon,the minister enjoined Nigerians to continue to support the President in his desire to fight corruption,ensure security of lives and property and stabilize the economy through creation of jobs and diversification of the economy.One more photo below.
