 Reps to Present N704.91m Half-Year Salary Donation to Tinubu The House of Representatives is set to present N704.91 million on December 31, 2024, to assist vulnerable Nigerians facing economic hardship due to the removal of the petrol subsidy. In July, the House resolved to donate 50% of their salaries for six months to support ordinary Nigerians during these challenging times, following a motion moved by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu. Kalu had stated, “This government is doing its best, but one year is not enough to address the country’s challenges. I urge our colleagues to sacrifice 50% of their salaries for six months.” During Thursday's plenary, Speaker Tajudeen Abba confirmed that the House had raised N704,907,578.82 through the initiative. IGP ORDERS THE ARREST,PROSECUTION OF PERSONS HOARDING & DIVERTING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS,YESTERDAY.

                      In a new press release yesterday April 29,2016,the IGP said,further to the Nigeria Police Force directives on the activities of unscrupulous elements who engage in illegal sale of petroleum products,there is need to make some clarification that the directive was specifically targeted at those who are involved in hoarding and diverting the petroleum products.However,those with genuine intention to use the products for their legal and genuine business are allowed to purchase the products.The IGP emphasized that no stone will be left unturned by the Police to checkmate those with the attitude of causing discomfort to the innocent citizens in the country.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.More photos below.
