 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. SUPERMODEL ''IMAN'',LOST HER MOTHER YESTERDAY,2 MONTHS AFTER THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND.

               Somali born Supermodel Iman Abdulmajid,lost her mother Mariam to the cold hands of death yesterday thursday.Iman captioned these picture she took with her parents on her wedding in Tuscany on 24 April 1992, ''Saddened by death of my mom Maryan Baadi.May Allah grant her the highest jennah.I beg that you respect my family's privacy during our time of grief #ripmaryanbaadi''.Her mother was an activist,so was her father.Her parent's came from a generation of young Somalis who were actively involved in getting independence for Somalia in 1960.Iman's mother died two months after the death of her musician husband David Bowie.She was married to her late husband 24 years ago,and they have a 15 year old named Alexandra Zahra,known as Lexi.May her mother's soul rest in peace,amen.More photos below.
