 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. THE NIGERIAN ARMY,INTERCEPTED A SUICIDE BOMBER TODAY AT UMMARARI COMMUNITY.{PHOTOS}.

                                                              Troops of 7 Division Garrison Forward Operation Base {FOB},today averted yet another suicide bombing catastrophe on Ummarari community by suspected Boko Haram terrorists at about 7.000am this morning.The suicide bomber was intercepted by the vigilant troops and the Civilian JTF while making attempt to enter the village to detonate his dangerous cargo on innocent persons in Ummarari.The suicide bomber detonated the strapped Improvised Explosive Device {IED} vest on his body,thus killing himself instantly when he was forced to halt based on suspicion that he was carrying suicide bombing material.Thankfully,there was no any other casualty other than the suspected suicide bomber.Troops along with the Civilian JTF at the village are now combing the surrounding area to forestall further attacks and clear the environment of likely remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relation.One more photo below.
