 NSCDC Deploys 4,000 Personnel in FCT for Yuletide Security The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command has assured residents of robust security throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities. Commandant Olusola Odumosu announced that 4,000 personnel have been deployed across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its surrounding areas to ensure public safety and protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure. The personnel, drawn from various specialized units including the Special Intervention Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit, Arm Squad, Agro Rangers, and others, will work to maintain peace and order during the festive season. In a statement issued on Thursday, signed by command spokesperson Monica Ojobi, Odumosu called for strict adherence to the operation order and emphasized the importance of securing key locations such as infrastructure, worship centers, markets, and recreational areas. NIGERIAN ARMY,RAIDED CATTLE RUSTLERS & ARMED BANDITS CAMP YESTERDAY IN YAN MANGU FOREST.{PHOTOS}.

                          Yesterday tuesday the 17th of May 2016,troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army operating under the auspices of Operation MESA in Zamfara state,raided suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits camp at Yan Mangu forest,near Dandindin village,Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state.The Troop also arrested 2 bandits and recovered 1 AK-47 rifle,1 AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 7 rounds of 7.62mm {Special} ammunitions,3 locally made guns and 1 motorcycle.Two suspects were arrested while attempting to flee from the camps.Nevertheless,the troops have destroyed all the bandits camps in the forest and are further dominating the general area and other flasj points with raids and patrols.The public are kindly requested to continue to be more security conscious and report any suspicious movement or persons t the nearest security agencies.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
