 *PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies. SENATOR SARAKI'S BROTHER,WAS KIDNAPPED TODAY IN KOGI STATE.

                     According to The Nation,there were concerns today friday in Lokoja,Kogi state,over the reported abduction of a bother to the Senate President,Bukola Saraki.A police source told the media that the unnamed brother of the Senate president was kidnapped at Irepani,close to Kabba junction,Adavi local government are of Kogi state.The source said the victim who was kidnapped at about 1:00pm,was heading to Ilorin,Kwara state.It was later gathered that the abductors have already established contact with the victim's family and demanded N30 million naira ransom.One more photo below.
