 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.                                                     Queen Elizabeth's wedding and coronation dresses will be displayed together for the first time ever at the Summer Opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace from 23 July to 2 October 2016 and at Windsor Castle from 17 September 201 to 8 January 2017,.Both dresses were designed by the great British couturier Sir Norman Hartnell.The wedding dress as pictured above was won by Princess Elizabeth for her marriage to The Duke of Edinburgh on 20 November 1947.When commissioned to design the dress,Sir Norman Hartnell set out to produce the most beautiful dress i had so far made.In 1947 Britain was still subject to rationing,so the Princess collected clothing coupons to pay for the dress.The Coronation dress as pictured below,was by Queen Elizabeth at Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953.The dress is made of the finest white duchess satin,embroidered with national and Commonwealth floral emblems in gold and silver thread,encrusted with seed pearls,sequins and crystals.More photos below.
