 ANAMBRA POLICE ACTION ON THE CULT CLASH THAT RESULTED IN THE FATAL INJURY OF FOUR PERSONS AT AFOR NAWFIA MARKET The Anambra State Police Command wishes to provide a comprehensive update on the cult-related attack that occurred on the evening of 7th December 2025 at Afor Nawfia Market, along the Onitsha–Awka Old Road. It will be recalled that operatives of the Command attached to the Special Anti-Cult Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, had, four days earlier, acting on credible intelligence about a planned rival cult confrontation, arrested two dangerous suspects and recovered a firearm from them. The arrested suspects have been assisting the Police with valuable information aimed at preventing further cult-related violence within Awka and its environs. 93 PEOPLE DIED WITHIN 2 DAYS IN INDIA,AFTER DEADLY LIGHTING STORMS.

                According to sources,at least 93 people died in lightning storms across the country in two days.Now the farmers in east India are calling for action from the government.The storm killed at least 56 people in Bihar state and 28 people were confirmed injured,then 37 people had died in the states of Uttar Pradesh,Jharkand and Madhya Pradesh.Lightning strikes are relatively common in India during the June to October monsoon,which hit the southern coast earlier this month,but this week's toll is particularly high.Rakesh Kumar Singh,the secretary of a Bihar Farmers collective called Jan Nirman Kendra,said yesterday tuesda's storm began at about 3pm in the district of Samastipur.''I was driving,and the light in the sky was so bright that i couldn't see anything,but i was too scared to stop,so i kept driving.It was as though there was a war happening in the sky.Before the rains came farmers were worried about drought,now that it's raining,they are working in the fields all day and the rain can start at any time.The farmers know not to stand under trees or in open fields,so they run to the nearest shelter they can find.There are hundreds of thousands of farmers in Bihar..The government can't do anything.Whatever has to be done,we will have to do ourselves''.More photos below.
