DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. Folowing the unfortunate death of a Police officer,ASP Mathew Akpos,allgedly killed by operatives of the State Command Special Anti-Robbry Squard {SARS},earlier this month,and ensuring protests by aggrieved citizens,the Inspector General of Police,IGP Solomon E. Arase,fdc,NPM,has called for calm as the Police authorities has waded into the matter to ensure that justice is served.Upon the receipt of the information,the IGP immediately directed that the matter be investigated to ensure justice is served.Meanwhile,all the Policemen linked with the killing of the officer have been arrested,detained and are presently undergoing investigation,for subsequent prosecution.The IGP called on the family and friends of the deceases officer to remain calm and patient as the Police authority will not relent in their efforts to ensure professionalism is carrying out their constitutional assignment.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.
