 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

LAGOS STATE IS SET TO TRAIN 500 FINAL YEAR STUDENTS,FOR 13 WEEKS.

                        The Lagos State Government,in collaboration with top private organisations,is set to train no fewer than 500 Final Year students of Lagos Tertiary Institutions for 13 weeks under the present administration's Ready-Set-Work initiative.The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education,Hon. Obafela Bank-Olemoh,who disclosed this yesterday tuesday at Land Mark Centre,Victorial Island,Lagos during a Press Conference and Launch of the programme,said the capacity building programme is designed for 500 best graduating students from state institutions to get internship placement in high ranking corporate organizations.He emphasised that at the end of the internship,those with best business ideas will get linked to major investors and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund for necessary assistance.According to him ''Looking at the current unemployment statistics,it is clear that an intervention is required to ensure our students are positioned to succeed in the competitive global labour market.In line with the objective of the Lagos State Government,the Ready,Set,Work Programme will equip students in our tertiary institutions with the needed skills to contribute to the economic development of the state as job creators''.
