NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. The EFCC,today friday July 1,2016 secured the conviction of Lekan Arigbabuwo to one year imprisonment in a case of conspiracy and stealing before Justice Lawal Akapo of Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja.Arigbabuwo was arrested by the operatives of EFCC following a petition by Ogundele Oluwatoba who claimed the convict stole and conspired to swindle him of N6.3 million by posing as a herbalist,an offence punishable under section 409 of Criminal Code,Cap.A452 No. 11,Laws of Lagos State 2011 and under section 285 of Criminal Code,Cap A 410 No.11,Laws of State,2011.Arigbabuwo who was arraigned on 3 counts charge,later changed his non guilty plea to guilty under a plea bargain arrangement.More photos below.
