*PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies. Tanzanian President John Magufuli welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today sunday for bilateral talks.The two leaders agreed to deepen India-Tanzania ties in agriculture,food security,trade,natural gas and other vital sectors.They also agreed to work closely to combat the twin threats to terrorism and climate change.India handed over a navigational chart of Mkoani Harbour in Tanzania to Tanzanian authorities.The Indian Prime Minister left for Kenya,which is his African tour that has seen him in Mozambique and South Africa.More photos below.
