A MANHUNT IS UNDERWAY FOR MAN WHO SHOT A GRANITE CITY POLICE OFFICER MULTIPLE TIMES.(PHOTO).
A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. If you do see him, do not approach, but rather call 911 immediately. Rescue operations for survivors continue in central Italy after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake left 68 dead and 150 missing,with the number of dead expected to rise according to BBC.Strong earthquakes struck a mountainous stretch of central Italy early today wednesday,setting off tremors that awakened residents in Rome,nearly 100 miles to the southwest according to reports.A village was leveled to the ground and some of the worst damage felt in the town of Amatrice.Amatrice mayor Sergio Pirozzi told pressmen that ''The roads in and out of town are cut off..Half the town is gone.There are people under the rubble.There's been a landslide and a bridge might collapse''.My heart goes out to them all.{Tears}.More photos below.
