Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested an alleged armed robber,Sunday Onjefu,27,who specialises in attacking women.The suspect was said to have been arrested at Itedo Bus Stop,Lekki while attempting to dispossess a young woman of her handbag.It was gathered that policemen attached to the Maroko Division who sighted the suspect,swiftly moved to the scene and caught him.According to the police,two toy pistols and a knife were found on him,which he confessed to have been using to rob his victims.Spokesperson for the command,Dolapo Badmos,a Superintendent of Police {SP} who confirmed the arrest,said the matter has been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squard {SARS} for further action.
