 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.                 President Mohammadu Buhari received President Patrice Talon of Republic of Benin,today at the State House for an official visit to Nigeria.This the first visit to Nigeria for the Benin President who apologized for not going sooner since President Buhari was away when he wanted to visit.According to Jeune Afrique,First trip abroad for all Benin Presidents after their sworn in is to visit its neighbour Nigeria.Benin has been hit hard by the fall of the Nigerian currency naira because of the trade between the two nations.Patricia Talon said during the celebrations of the 56th anniversary of the independence of Benin on Monday that ''It is hoped that Nigeria gets better.Our lives are linked.What matters to me is that the Benin generation goes more freely in Nigeria''.More photos below.
